Introduction/Purpose of John Villena's American Dream:

The American Dream is exactly what John Herbert wants, He is 35 years old and was from Bulacan, Philippines. Villena is planning a better lifestyle for him and his family where he can financially support them, giving them things they never had. In the past four years Villena has been separated from his family for about six years, he has been working in Southern Arabia for four years then when his petition papers came in, he didn't have the chance to return back home, but instead he went straight to America. It has been very hard as he was separated from his family, although everything he has done to get to where he is now, was for his family and their future.

Settling in America:

Villena spends most of his days working at a care home for the elderly as he keeps himself occupied from being parted from his family. Although his skills of expertise as a nurse wasn't transferable, he has managed to get a temporary job that would work up to his career of becoming a certified nurse in the United States.

Tough Times:

Spending majority of his time working, saving enough to bring his family to America and giving them the life they never had. This has caused him to spend less time with his family since he left them to work abroad. He has been away from his fiancé and son for five years, and since then has seen them once. The hardest part about immigrating to the United States, is when your family is left at home and having to see them live their lives through a screen. At the end, all John's hard work will pay off, everything he has done to get to where he is now, will benefit him and his family for the future.

John Villena's Family, who he wants to share this America dream with.
